Guidepost Montessori helps your child develop a fundamental, enduring love of learning and attain the deeply ingrained social, emotional, and academic skills they need to thrive as adults. Our approach combines highly intentional learning materials, an individualized curriculum, exceptional guides (teachers), and a joyous approach to practiced independence.

Montessori students overtake children who attend other kinds of schools in academic achievement and social and emotional development. They develop lifelong skills, such as a growth mindset and self-confidence.

In our programs learning is structured and sequential, while still providing the flexibility to individualize lessons to meet each child’s needs. This could mean providing extra attention when a child is struggling or challenging high-achievers to excel beyond their age level.

Mixed-age classrooms give the older children a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, while the younger children benefit from socializing with older children. All students enjoy a mutually beneficial relationship as they advance through the program.

Students explore subjects at their own pace during a work period that enables uninterrupted focus. A young child may work on a task for a few minutes, but an older student may work for hours. This daily "work cycle" is part of the curriculum to develop concentration skills and the ability to self-direct.

A Montessori guide circulates the classroom to assess and support each child, one-on-one. Our guides don’t depend on performance testing to gauge skill level. Thanks to our small class sizes, guides (teachers) have a close understanding of where each child is at, and their readiness to move on to the next stage.

Toddler

Our pre-school (or toddler daycare) program for children ages 16 months to 3 years old.

​​In this program, children make astonishing achievements in terms of communication, independence, physical movement, problem-solving ability, and social interactions.

• The guides give lessons on social norms like how to greet a new person.
• The child is exposed to real, rich, precise, and varied vocabulary and grammar.
• Toilet learning is a crucial milestone, and thanks to our mixed-age classroom, chances are your child has already seen their peers going to the toilet on their own, and is already curious and inspired.

Children's House

Our pre-k and kindergarten program for children ages 3 to 6 years old.

In this program, each area of the curriculum comes with enticing, sequenced materials, which are designed to appeal to the young child's interests and stage of cognitive development. Each child follows their own curiosity, supported by a guide, as they learn math, science, geography, botany, language and culture.

• The use of materials, such as the pink tower or cylinder blocks, develops the child's scientific mind as they compare, contrast, place in order and evaluate, using their hands and mind together.
• The children are invited to take part in various practical, real-world tasks and activities, helping them develop key executive function skills as they start to see themselves as capable and competent.

Early childhood is a brief window in which your child can acquire a second language naturally and easily, without conscious effort.

Our lead teachers (“guides”) are Montessori-tranied, but also native Spanish speakers. The daily classroom experience is conducted entirely in Spanish. 

Beyond the practical benefits of bilingualism, there is a tremendous amount of evidence from psychology, neuroscience, and education research that fluency in a second language significantly improves crucial executive functioning skills. These executive functioning skills are critical factors in an individual's ability to succeed in life.

Parent engagement is one of the most effective ways to boost a child’s joy and connection to learning. Thanks to our app, Transparent Classroom, you can follow your child's progress throughout the day. The guides share photos and notes about what your child has learned that day, toileting routines, what they ate, or perhaps a beautiful moment between peers. Parents love it!
